Underground Railroad in Philadelphia

Avenging The Ancestors Coalition (ATAC) partnered with Independence National Historical Park to bring you the grand opening of the "Underground Railroad in Philadelphia" exhibit on July 3 at the Independence Visitors Center at Sixth and Market Streets. As part of that impressive grand opening, ATAC and many others were treated to a snippet of an emotionally riveting play entitled "True Tales of the Underground Railroad," performing six times from August 7 through August 21 as follows:

Friday, August 7, 12:00-12:45 and 3:00-3:45. Highlighting Charles Gilbert who hid under a hotel, in a wash-house, and under floorboards to escape slavery

Friday, August 14, 12:00-12:45 and 3:00-3:45. Highlighting Henry "Box" Brown

Friday, August 21, 12:00-12:45 and 3:00-3:45. Highlighting Ellen Craft who traveled as a white man being attended to by her husband who pretended to be her enslaved laborer
.

Please spread the word, and please bring your family and friends.
