Philadelphia salutes WWII's Tuskegee Airmen

Over the weekend, the 37th annual convention of the Tuskegee Airmen was held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown near 12th and Market Streets. About 100 of the original 350 World War II military air corps members were here in town to attend the convention.

At the final public ceremony, keynote speaker Col. Guion "Guy" Bluford, , not only a native of Philadelphia, but the first African American astronaut to served on four shuttle mission during his NASA career spoke to a group of attendees on Saturday at the Marriot.
