High Heels Kick Out Kidney Disease

On Wednesday, April 29, the National Kidney Foundation (Delaware Valley) will be hosting its 3rd Annual High Heels Kick Out Kidney Disease fashion event at The Shops at Liberty Place from 7pm – 9pm.

Guests will enjoy great local food and drink, raffles, make-overs from various cosmetic vendors like Philadelphia’s own Ursula Augustine of Ursula's About PHace and a sneak peek of the latest fashions by students of The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

Various celebrities will be at the fashion event supporting the Foundation’s cause such as event emcee Marilyn Russell of 95.7 BEN FM; fashion show emcee Kerri-Lee Halkett of Fox 29; and Lorraine Ranalli, Philadelphia radio veteran and author of Gravy Wars. Philadelphia-area business owner and Bucks County resident, Mary Fox Donnelly will also be at the event celebrating the 30th anniversary of her life saving kidney transplant and sharing her personal story of dealing with kidney disease.

Each event attendee will receive a jam-packed goodie bag and will have a chance to win the High Heels lock and key raffle. Tickets are for sale – $75 for general admission or $35 for students. The Fairmount Art Center is celebrating their 5th Birthday Bash & Fairmount Arts Crawl today. “Free, festivities are in conjunction with the Fairmount Arts Crawl and include a student art exhibit, munchies, make-n-take art for all ages, interactive music, and face painting.”

Despite the heat, it was great way to discover local artists, businesses and restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, Chris and I had a fabulous dinner at Zorba's Tavern. I recommend the Greek Island Pasta dinner.

We Can Do This.

I propose we do this at 30th Street Station. However, instead of Sound of Music which I love, I am thinking maybe we can do West Side Story. You know, the gymnasium mambo scene. I already have it planned in my head. Someone give me a call, we can do this.

Rainbow after the Rain

I was in Suburban Square in Ardmore when I spotted this two ring rainbow. I must say this is the biggest rainbow I have seen to date.
