Live from the Phillies Game

Phillies 8 vs. Mets 7

The Phillies were in trouble early in the game , but defeated the Mets in 13 innings and toke first place in the National League East. It was exciting game, with quite a few Mets fans. Good times!

Red Bull Soapbox Race is coming to Manayunk!

I haven't been this excited to post something in a while. I'm sure you've seen the Red Bull commercials with the crazy people and their silly looking creations racing or flying off a cliff. Click on the title to check out the details. I will be there if anyone would like to join me.

30th Anniversary of Unity at Unity Weekend

I got so caught up with the Olympics I forgot to mention WDAS-FM's Unity Weekend. Held on the Waterfront on Saturday, August 23, 2008 and Sunday, August 24, 2008 at The Great Plaza at Penns Landing.

Note: Now I managed to get there when everything was pretty much over on Sunday (I was out of town at a convention). However, for what I did see and after interviewing couple people (Juanita) it was too crowded. In the pass Unity Day (now weekend) were usually held on the parkway. For some reason this year, it was held at Penn’s Landing. Not to speak badly about Penn’s Landing but it’s too close-in to host something like Unity Day …..sorry “Weekend”. I vote it goes back to the parkway.

White Dog Cafe's Caribbean Street Party was a hit!!!

I dance all night!!!

The Rum Runners were flowing and music was fabulous. I thought with the price of admission the food should have been cheaper (let's say free), but since Richard Jah Ace and the Sons of Ace were performing, it made it all better.
