Philadelphia salutes WWII's Tuskegee Airmen

Over the weekend, the 37th annual convention of the Tuskegee Airmen was held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown near 12th and Market Streets. About 100 of the original 350 World War II military air corps members were here in town to attend the convention.

At the final public ceremony, keynote speaker Col. Guion "Guy" Bluford, , not only a native of Philadelphia, but the first African American astronaut to served on four shuttle mission during his NASA career spoke to a group of attendees on Saturday at the Marriot.

Best Bread Pudding

If you are looking for the best bread pudding in Philadelphia let me suggest a couple places. But let me start off saying that no one beats Helen's (my mother) bread pudding.

Marathon Grill
40th and Walnut Street( you can try other locations)

Banana Bread Pudding

I remember trying to order their Banana Bread Pudding two years ago and they were all sold out. On my most recent visit to the Marathon Grill I was successful. All I can say it was worth the wait, simply delicious.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant
One South Board Street

Bread Pudding

I fell in love with their bread pudding 5 years ago and it still taste the same.

Valanni
1229 Spruce Street

Granny Smith Apple, White Chocolate & Walnut Bread Pudding

Out late one night, stop in for a drink. Wasn't even thinking about order dessert, until I saw it on the menu and decided to give it a try. Love it!

Worst Bread Pudding - Ruth's Chris Steak House, 260 South Board Street. Meal fantastic, bread pudding very dry.
