Center City Restaurant Week Review September 23-30

Old Original Bookbinders ------------Positano Coast
Positano Coast was indeed my best experience for September 2007 Restaurant Week. Great place to take someone for a romantic dinner. Specialty is Italian food. The second-floor is bright and inviting with wall murals and photographs of beautiful Southern Italy. You can sit at a table or just lounge out on comfortable sofa.

Every dish was to my pleasing, especially the Grilled Baby Seppia. Great food, beautiful surrounding you can’t wrong at Positano Coast.
O, I almost forgot that Positano Coast usually extends their Restaurant Week offer (Sunday-Sunday).

Old Original Bookbinders has a long history here in Philadelphia; however, I thought they could gave me more for the buck. Don’t get me wrong each meal was well prepared (New England Clam Chowder. Excellent) but the meals were kind of skimpy.

9th Annual Philadelphia American Heart Walk

American Heart Walk
Originally Photo uploaded by bamba413

Well I been doing the American Heart Walk for about 6 years now and it always been at the same spot every year; Fairmount Park- Memorial Hall. However, this year it was held at the Citizens Bank Park in South Philly. Let's just say at first I wasn't happy with the new location; however by the end of the walk I was kind of feeling the new location.

I got a chance to walk around and inside the stadium. Instead of portable potties, I got the chance to use a real bathroom and wash my hands properly. Great giveaway and the Philly Fanatic was there cheering everyone on. It turned out to be a really nice day.

Franklin Fountain

You know how we always complain about things are not what they use to be. For example McDonalds fish filet sandwich just don’t taste the same as when I was young child. (I am serious it doesn’t…)

Well take a trip to Franklin Fountain Ice Cream Saloon and step back in time. Located 116 Market Street (Old City) Franklin Fountain décor is of the early 20th-century soda shop with its original marble counters and mosaic floors. This is a time when people actually dressed up for work.
